WILSON, N.C. | Young Harris College posted a 10-8 women's lacrosse victory over Barton College Wednesday (March 8) afternoon at Truist Stadium.
The Mountain Lions improved to 5-4, while the Bulldogs fell to 3-4. YHC returns to the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field next Wednesday (March 15) for a 6 p.m. match against Lincoln Memorial University.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- After the score was tied at 6, the Mountain Lions scored four unanswered goals - two from Morgan Lewis, and one each from Parker Vaughan and Belle Hardwick - to open up a 10-6 lead with 10:40 remaining in the fourth quarter.
- Ella Hancock, Ashlyn Fraley and Lewis each scored twice for the Mountain Lions, while Mary Troyer, Hardwick, Ally Cattoni and Vaughan had one goal each.
- Hancock, Hardwick, Cattoni, Ruthie Mandell and Jess Sujishi tallied an assist each.
- Emily Flynt led the way with three draw controls, while Kinsley Purser had two.
- Riley Harris scooped up five ground balls, while Cattoni registered four. Abbie Gallagher added three more.
- Troyer and Purser each caused two turnovers.
- Gallagher recorded 12 saves in goal for YHC.
