GREENEVILLE, Tenn. | Tusculum University used a six-run first inning to down the No. 30 Young Harris College baseball team 13-5 Tuesday (Feb. 21) afternoon at Pioneer Park.
The Pioneers improved to 8-2, while the Mountain Lions saw their five-game winning streak end as they fell to 9-3. Young Harris returns to action Friday (Feb. 24) when they face its Blood Mountain rival University of North Georgia at 4 p.m. to start a three-game Peach Belt Conference weekend series.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
	- Tusculum scored six unearned runs in the first inning off YHC starter Dylan Beck (0-2) as they took advantage of two Young Harris miscues.
- Steven Spell and Jackson Kemp each drove in a run for the Mountain Lions in the top of the fourth. Spell had a sacrifice fly, while Kemp singled to center field.
- YHC added a run in the fifth on a Jarrett Ford's fielder's choice.
- The Mountain Lions scored their final two runs in the eighth on an RBI double by Rome Wallace and a RBI single by Jace Wilson.
- YHC only managed six hits, with Ford collecting two of them.
