YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Ashlyn Fraley and
Ella Hancock combined to score nine goals as the Young Harris College women's lacrosse team dominated Davis & Elkins College 20-4 Sunday (Feb. 19) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The Mountain Lions improved to 3-2, while the Senators fell to 0-2. YHC returns to action Saturday (Feb. 25) when they travel to Belmont, North Carolina, for a 3 p.m. match against Belmont Abbey College.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- The Mountain Lions held Davis & Elkins without a goal for the final 30 minutes and 33 seconds of the match as they scored the final 12 goals against the Senators.
- Fraley led the Mountain Lions with five goals, while Hancock deposited four in the back of the net. Kinsley Purser, Emily Flynt and Mary Troyer had two apiece, while Belle Hardwick, Felisse Richard, Morgan Lewis, Ruthie Mandell and Chapman James had a goal each.
- Hardwick posted four assists, while Purser had three. Richard collected two assists, while Flynt, Hancock, Lewis, Mandell, and Parker Vaughan had one each.
- YHC dominated in shots 41-15 and won 20 of the 27 draw controls contested.
- Hancock won six draw controls, while Flynt and Troyer each recorded five.
- Purser corralled four ground balls, while Flynt had three.
- McKenna Graf (1), Maddy Meyers (1) and Abbie Gallagher (6) combined for eight saves in the Mountain Lion goal.
