BELMONT, N.C. | Riley D'Andrea scored seven goals as Belmont Abbey College defeated Young Harris College 17-13 in a non-conference women's lacrose match Saturday (Feb. 25) afternoon at Alumni Field.
The Crusaders improved to 1-2, while the Mountain Lions evened their record at 3-3. YHC returns to the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field Saturday (March 4)Â for an 11 a.m. match against nationally ranked Rollins College.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- The Mountain Lions rallied from a 10-4 deficit to tie the game at 12 after a Belle Hardwick goal with 9:16 left in the fourth quarter.
- Belmont Abbey scored five of the final six goals in the match.
- Emily Flynt led the Mountain Lions with three goals, while Ella Hancock, Ally Cattoni and Kinsley Purser had two goals apiece. Mary Troyer, Hardwick, Ruthie Mandell and Morgan Lewis found the back of the net once.
- Hancock, Hardwick, Cattoni, Mandell and Purser had an assist each.
- Hancock and Purser each won five draw controls, while Purser, Suzanne Moore and Maddy Meyers each scooped up three ground balls.
- Purser registered four caused turnovers, while Mandell and Noel McClain tallied two apiece.
- Abbie Gallagher (seven) and Meyers (four) combined for 11 saves in the YHC goal.
