MIAMI SHORES, Fla. | Barry University scored three runs in the third and fourth innings as the Buccaneers defeated No. 30 Young Harris College 7-4 in a non-conference baseball game Saturday (Feb. 11) evening at Feinbloom Field.
Barry improved to 4-2, while the Mountain Lions fell to 4-2. YHC wraps up its trip to the Sunshine state Sunday (Feb. 12) with a 1 p.m. game against Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Young Harris jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the third as Ethan Stamps drove in both runs on a single to left field. He drove in Ethan Underwood and Marco Colina, who both earned walks.
- Barry took a 7-1 lead after three-run outbursts in the third and fourth innings and a single run in the fifth.
- The Mountain Lions got two runs back in the sixth on Jeremy Begora's two-run homer to left field. It was Begora's second homer of the year. Drew Bray, who singled to center field, scored on the play.
- The Mountain Lions only had five hits in the game. Ahmir Cournier had a double, while Jarrett Ford had a single.
- Zach Murray (0-1) took the loss for the Mountain Lions. He recorded five strikeouts in five innings, while reliever Cole Edwards tallied four strikeouts in three innings.
