YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's tennis team had a successful start to their 2022-23 season by winning three titles at the YHC Invitational Friday (Sept. 9) at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
The invitational featured teams from Young Harris, Reinhardt University Shorter University and Point University. The tournament featured three brackets with each line featuring a doubles and two singles matches. A team advanced if they took two of the three matches.
Rodrigo Mendoza and
Chimo Minguez Ribera teamed up to win the A Bracket, while
Janis Auslands and
Eric DelValle won the B Bracket for the Mountain Lions.
Michael Schut and
Caleb McCurry made it a clean sweep for Young Harris as they won the C Bracket.
The Mountain Lions return to action Sept. 23 when they travel to Sumter, South Carolina, to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championships at the Palmetto Tennis Center.Â
