CLEVELAND, Tenn. | The Young Harris College women's lacrosse team fell to Lee University 22-14 in a Gulf South Conference match Wednesday (April 13) afternoon at the Ray Conn Sports Complex.
Young Harris fell to 7-8 overall and 2-2 in the Gulf South, while Lee improved to 8-7 and 5-1. The Mountain Lions return to action Tuesday (April 19) with 4 p.m. GSC match against Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Morgan Lewis led the Mountain Lions with a career-high five goals and one assist for a total of six points.
- Taylor Greenberg and Kinsley Purser had three goals apiece, while Belle Hardwick found the net twice, and Ella Hancock scored one.
- Hardwick dished out two assists and Hancock, Greenberg, Parker Vaughan, Rachel Robb, and Lewis each had one.
- The Mountain Lions led 11-10 with 1:43 remaining in the second period after a goal by Lewis, but the Flames added two to end the period and take the lead 12-11 at the half.
- Lewis scored another goal 30 seconds into the third period to tie it up at 12, but the Flames scored five back-to-back to take the lead for good.
- Robb led YHC with five ground balls, and Hancock led in draw controls with nine.
- Robb played 45 minutes in goal and recorded 11 saves, while Maddy Meyers played 15 minutes in goal and saved one.
