DUE WEST, S.C. | The Young Harris College women's lacrosse team erupted for 11 goals in the first quarter en route to a 22-9 decision over Erskine College Wednesday (March 9) afternoon at Huggins Field.
The Mountain Lions improved to 4-6, while the Flying Fleet fell to 0-4. Young Harris returns to the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field Saturday (March 12) for a 1 p.m. match against Oglethorpe University.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- NIne different Mountain Lions found the back of the net against Erskine. Ella Hancock tallied five, while Taylor Greenberg was next with four. Ally Cattoni and Ashlyn Fraley had three apiece, while Kinsley Purser and Emily Flynt had two each. Ruthie Mandell, Felisse Richard and Eryn Brown each collected one.
- The four goals by Greenberg moved her career total to 126 and into third place in the YHC record books, surpassing the 123 that Jaclyn Kernohan (2013-16) scored.
- Purser had four assists, while Hancock and Mandell had three each. Morgan Lewis and Richard and two apiece. Cattoni, Flynt, Greenberg, Suzanne Moore and Parker Vaughan registered an assist each.
- Hancock tallied nine draw controls, while Flynt and Purser had four each.Â
- Hancock corralled thee grounds balls and caused two turnovers, while Purser also registered two caused turnovers.
- Maddy Meyers (2), Rachel Robb (2) and Abbie Gallagher (1) combined for five stops in goal.
