BELMONT, N.C. | Belmont Abbey College claimed two men's tennis victories over Young Harris College Saturday (March 5) at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The Crusaders won 5-2 in the morning match and followed that up with a 4-0 decision in the afternoon.
Belmont Abbey improved to 7-15, while the Mountain Lions fell to 5-6. Young Harris returns to action March 18 when they host Lander University in its Peach Belt Conference opener at 2:30 p.m. at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
In the first match,
Pieke Bouman and
Chimo Minguez Ribera earned wins in singles. Bouman earned a three-set win - 6-3, 4-6. 6-3 - at No. 1 singles, while Minguez Ribera took a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 4.
Rodrigo Mendoza and Bouman earned a 6-3 victory at No. 2 doubles in the second match.
