COLUMBUS, Ga. | Win Johns drove in five runs as No. 2 Columbus State University picked up a 12-1 Peach Belt Conference baseball victory in seven innings over Young Harris College Friday (March 25) evening at Burger King Stadium at Ragsdale Field.
The Cougars improved to 24-4 overall and to 9-1 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions slipped to 19-8 and 7-3. Game two of the three-game series is set for Saturday (March 26) at 2 p.m.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- The Mountain Lions collected two hits, including a solo home run by Jackson Jones to right field in the top of the seventh.
- Mark Castle had the other hit for Young Harris with his single in the third inning,
- Mason Herbert (1-2) took the loss for the Mountain Lions, allowing nine runs in 4.1 innings.
