YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College baseball team beat the University of Alabama in Huntsville 12-5 Tuesday (March 1) afternoon at Zell B. Miller Field.
Young Harris improved to 10-5, while UAH fell to 6-9. Young Harris opens up Peach Belt Conference play against Georgia College this Saturday (March 5)Â with a 1 p.m. doubleheader in Milledgeville, Georgia.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- The 26th-ranked Mountain Lions totaled 14 hits including multi-hit games from Marco Colina, Ethan Underwood, Steven Spell, and Mark Castle. Colina, Underwood, and Spell accounted for three hits apiece, while Castle had two.
- Young Harris scored three runs in the first inning, Colina, Underwood, Spell, and Castle each singled.
- Colina added his second home run of the season with a shot to left field in the second to take a 4-1 lead.Â
- The Mountain Lions used an eight-run fourth inning to give YHC a 12-1 lead. Spell and Logan Worley had the big hits in the inning, driving in two runs apiece.
- Dylan Beck (2-0) picked up his second win of the season, he allowed three hits in 4.0Â innings pitched and struck out four.Â
