Fast start propels Bulldogs past Young Harris

WINGATE, N.C. | Wingate University used a fast start to claim a 19-6 non-conference women's lacrosse victory over Young Harris College Friday (Feb. 25) afternoon at Graham Gill Field.

The Bulldogs improved to 3-0, while the Mountain Lions fell to 1-6. Young Harris returns to the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field Sunday (Feb. 27) with a noon contest against Barton College.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

Wingate outscored Young Harris 10-1 in the opening 15 minutes.
Ella Hancock and Taylor Greenberg each scored two goals, while Ashlyn Fraley and Morgan Lewis had one apiece.
Hancock, Parker Vaughan, and Lewis tallied an assist.
Gwenyth Gibbons scooped up three ground balls, while Sarah Beckwith and Kinsley Purser had two each.
Hancock led the way with six draw controls, while Greenberg and Purser had two apiece.
The three netminders - Rachel Robb, Abbie Gallagher and Maddy Meyers - combined to stop 16 shots. Meyers had 12, Robb had three and Gallagher had one.
