YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College baseball team lost 10-8 to the University of Southern Indiana 10-8 Sunday (Feb. 20) afternoon at Zell B. Miller Field.
Young Harris fell to 6-4, while the Screaming Eagles improved to 3-0. The Mountain Lions return to action Tuesday (Feb. 22) with a 4 p.m. game against Tusculum University in Greenville, Tennessee.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Ethan Underwood, Rome Wallace, and Noah Fitzgerald each had two hits in the game.
- Young Harris cut the lead to six runs 10-4 in the seventh inning after Kyle Ayers and Logan Worley scored on an USI error.
- Underwood hit a shot over the left field fence to score three-runs in the bottom of the ninth and bring the deficit to two runs 10-8 but that would be as close as the Mountain Lions would get.
- Mason Herbert (0-1) took the loss for the Mountain Lions. Herbert pitched 4.2 innings and allowed 11 hits, one walk, and struck out six.
- Carter Stamm picked up the win for the Screaming Eagles.
