YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Kinsley Purser and
Ashlyn Fraley each scored three goals to lead Young Harris College to a 15-1 non-conference women's lacrosse victory over Southern Wesleyan University Friday (Feb. 18) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The Mountain Lions improved to 1-4, while the Warriors fell to 0-3. Young Harris continues its homestand Sunday (Feb. 20) with a 1 p.m. contest against Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Eight different players found the back of the net for the Mountain Lions. In addition to Purser and Fraley, Ella Hancock (2), Taylor Greenberg (2), Parker Vaughan (2), Morgan Lewis (1), Emily Flynt (1) and Ally Cattoni (1) registered at least one goal.
- Hancock tallied four assists, while Purser added three. Flynt, Fraley and Lewis had one each.
- Young Harris held a 35-5 advantage on shots and 27-13 margin on ground balls.
- Hancock picked up four draw controls, while Greenberg and Flynt had three apiece.
- Eryn Brown and Hancock each scooped up seven ground balls.
- The Mountain Lions caused 13 SWU turnovers. Emma Brennan and Hancock each had three caused turnovers, while Gwenyth Gibbons had two.
- Rachel Robb picked up four saves in goal in 30 minutes of action for the Mountain Lions, while Maddy Meyers and Abbie Gallagher each played a quarter in net.Â
