No. 13 Limestone defeats Young Harris 16-8

GAFFNEY, S.C. | Limestone University used a strong first half as the No. 13-ranked Saints defeated Young Harris College 16-8 in a non-conference women's lacrosse match Wednesday (Feb. 16) afternoon.

The Saints improved to 3-0, while the Mountain Lions fell to 0-4. Limestone is the second nationally ranked opponent YHC has faced in 2022. Young Harris opens its home schedule Friday (Feb. 18) at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field when they entertain Southern Wesleyan University.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

Ella Hancock, Taylor Greenberg and Kinsley Purser had two goals each for the Mountain Lions, while Felisse Richard and Ashlyn Fraley each found the back of the net once.
Richard added two assists, while Hancock and Ruthie Mandell each dished out an assist.
Abbie Gallagher and Kinsley Purser each scooped up three ground balls, while Eryn Brown and Maddy Meyers had two each.
Richard and Purser each claimed three draw controls, while Hancock posted two.
Gallagher, Rachel Robb and Meyers each stopped two shots each in the YHC goal.
Greenberg gave the Mountain Lions an early 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the match off a Hancock assists, but the Saints reeled off 11 unanswered goals to take control.
