Young Harris finishes in fourth place at Bobcat Invitational

Mountain Lions have six runners inside the top 20

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Behind six runners inside the top 20, the Young Harris College men's cross country team finished in fourth place at the Bobcat Invitational Saturday (Oct. 8) morning.

INSIDE THE RESULTS:
  • The Mountain Lions scored 84 points, while the University of West Alabama won the meet with 39 points.
  • Liam King finished in 14th place with a personal-best time of 27:17.1 on the 8K course at Council Farms. King was one of five runners for the Mountain Lions to set a personal best and another one tied his best time.
  • Kai Vigardt was 16th with a time 27:34.7 and was followed by four of his teammates in 17th through 20th place. Noah Mason was 17th with a personal-best effort of 27:40.3) and was followed by Dylan DiCicco (27:44.7 PR), Hayden Durrett (27:55.8 PR) and Matthew Honeycutt (27:57.7 PR).
  • Jack Rush tied his best personal time of 28:28.5 and came in 24th place, while Thomas Mellendorf came in 28th with a time of 28:54.8.
  • The Mountain Lions return to action next Saturday (Oct. 15) at 9 a.m. when they compete in the Berry College Invitational in Mount Berry, Georgia.
