Young Harris finishes in fifth place at Berry Invitational

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's cross country team finished in fifth place at the Berry College Invitational Saturday (Oct. 15) morning.

INSIDE THE RESULTS:
  • The Mountain Lions finished with 128 points as a team and finished second among NCAA Division II institutions at the meet. Berry won the event with 25 points.
  • Liam King was the top YHC runner in the field on the 8K course with a personal-best time of 27:09.6 and came in 29th place.
  • Kai Vigardt had a time of 27:16.7 and came in 34th place, while Hayden Durrett had a personal-best time of 27:45.0 and came in 46th.
  • Noah Mason and Dylan DiCicco finished back-to-back in 47th and 48th place. Mason completed the course in 27:46.1, while DiCicco had an effort of 27:51.6.
  • Matthew Honeycutt came in 60th place with a time of 28:15.1, while Andrew Baum had a PR time of 28:27.1 and came in 64th.
  • Jack Rush posted a time of 29:31.4 and finished in 78th place, while Thomas Mellendorf finished in 91st with a time of 30:11.4. Wesley Daniel came in 142nd place with a time of 36:19.9.
  • The Mountain Lions return to action Nov. 5 when they compete in the Peach Belt Conference Championship in Beech Island, South Carolina.
