AUGUSTA, Ga. | Juli Boerr and
Jing Dong from Young Harris College has been named to the Peach Belt Conference Team of Academic Distinction for women's tennis.
The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must participate in at least half of her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and completed at least one full academic year at her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
Juli Boerr
- Boerr is from Bell Ville, Argentina.
- Boerr has a 3.67 cumulative grade-point average as a biology major.
- She has won 20 singles and doubles matches during her career.
- Boerr has been named to the PBC Team of Academic Distinction twice.
- Boerr was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete.
Jing Dong
- Dong is from Guangzhou, China.
- Dong had a 4.00 cumulative GPA as an economics major.
- She has won 19 singles and doubles matches in her career.
- Dong has received the department's Most Promising Freshman Scholar-Athlete Award, the Outstanding Sophomore Scholar-Athlete Award and the Outstanding Junior Scholar-Athlete Award.
- She has been named to PBC Team of Academic Distinction twice.
- Dong received the ITA's Arthur Ashe Jr. Leadership and Sportsmanship Award for the NCAA Division II Southeast region.
- Dong has been named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
- She has received the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award.
