AUGUSTA, Ga. | Juli Boerr and Jing Dong from Young Harris College has been named to the Peach Belt Conference Team of Academic Distinction for women's tennis.

The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the  team, a student-athlete must participate in at least half of her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and completed at least one full academic year at her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. 

Juli Boerr

• Boerr is from Bell Ville, Argentina.
• Boerr has a 3.67 cumulative grade-point average as a biology major.
• She has won 20 singles and doubles matches during her career.
• Boerr has been named to the PBC Team of Academic Distinction twice.
• Boerr was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete.

Jing Dong

• Dong is from Guangzhou, China.
• Dong had a 4.00 cumulative GPA as an economics major.
• She has won 19 singles and doubles matches in her career.
• Dong has received the department's Most Promising Freshman Scholar-Athlete Award, the Outstanding Sophomore Scholar-Athlete Award and the Outstanding Junior Scholar-Athlete Award.
• She has been named to PBC Team of Academic Distinction twice.
• Dong received the ITA's Arthur Ashe Jr. Leadership and Sportsmanship Award for the NCAA Division II Southeast region.
• Dong has been named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
• She has received the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award.
