FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. | The No. 33 Young Harris College women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance Tuesday afternoon, rolling past Emmanuel University 6-1 in a Roar War matchup on the road.
The Mountain Lions improve to 8-4 overall, while Emmanuel falls to 2-12.
Young Harris secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Futaba Saito and Maud Scholten picked up a 6-4 victory at the top spot, while Isabella Ezeta and Lexie Gillespie earned a win by default at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, the Mountain Lions controlled the match, winning five of six positions. Saito earned a strong straight-sets win at No. 1 (7-5, 6-1), while Viviana Gomez followed with a 7-5, 6-4 victory at No. 3. Callie Stanfield added an 8-5 win at No. 4, and Gillespie was dominant at No. 5 with a 6-0, 6-0 result.
Ezeta also picked up a win by default at No. 6 singles to secure the fifth singles point for Young Harris.
Emmanuel's lone point came at No. 2 singles.
