AUGUSTA, Ga. | Lindsey Caudell and Samantha Russell from Young Harris College have been named to the Peach Belt Conference Team of Academic Distinction for women's basketball.

The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the  team, a student-athlete must participate in at least half of her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and completed at least one full academic year at her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. 

Lindsey Caudell

• Caudell is a guard from Gainesville, Georgia.
• Caudell has a 3.57 cumulative grade-point average as a communication studies major.
• She was second on the team with 25 three-pointers and a .417 three-point field goal shooting and third on team with 9.3 points per game.
• In 12 games played (three starts), Caudell averaged 2.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals.
• Caudell scored career-high 23 points in win over Columbus State (Feb. 20) as she was 5-of-7 shooting from three-point range.
• Caudelll finished third in Peach Belt in three-point field goal shooting and three-point field goals made per game (2.1).
• She finished 28th in the final NCAA Division II statistics in three-point field goal shooting.

Samantha Russell

• Russell is a guard from Tellico Plains, Tennessee.
• Russell has a 3.80 cumulative GPA as a management major.
• In 11 games played (two starts), Russell averaged 14.3 minutes, 4.3 points and 2.7 rebounds.
• She scored a career-high 15 points in win over Georgia College (Jan. 18).
