YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College volleyball coach Jenny Michael announced the elevation of Savannah Moore to assistant coach for the Mountain Lions.

"We are very grateful to have Savannah join us in the inaugural year of the YHC volleyball program," said Michael. "Her experiences as a former student-athlete along with a keen knowledge of regional club teams will be pivotal in the development and continued growth of our program."

Moore had joined the Mountain Lions in the fall as a volunteer coach. The Sharpsburg, Georgia, native played volleyball for four seasons at Troy University. Moore starred as a middle blocker for the Trojans from 2016-19 and was an integral part in the Trojans' Sun Belt Conference Tournament upset over the University of South Alabama in 2017 when she posted 17 kills and eight total blocks (five solo) for the match.

She ranks third all-time in career solo blocks and career blocks per set for the Trojans with 49 and 0.82 per set. She also holds the school individual season match record for attack percentage at .750 against the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Moore graduated from Troy in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in recreation.

Young Harris opens its delayed inaugural 2020 season March 9 when they host Lander University in a 7 p.m. Peach Belt Conference match inside the YHC Recreation and Fitness Center.
