JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. | The Young Harris College men's and women's tennis teams competed in the Eagle Invitational this past weekend (Oct. 22-23).
The Mountain Lions were among five schools that participated in the event hosted by Carson-Newman University. Both teams competed against players from Lee University, College of Charleston, Carson-Newman, and Tusculum University in five singles flights and two doubles flights.
WOMEN:
Meghna Mallath partnered with
Zoe Freke to pick up two wins in doubles play.
- def. Valentina Loretz/Johanna Palacio (TU) 7-5
- def. Sierra Donaldson/Lauren Trammell (LU) 6-1
Jing Dong placed third in the A Flight after picking up two wins in singles play. She also picked up a win in doubles with partner
Bailee Wilson.
- def. Micaela Maiz (LU) 2-6, 6-4, 12-10
- def. AlexiAnn Drouin (CC) 4-6, 6-3, 10-7
- def. Lauren Good/Hayden Smith (LU) 6-3
Louise Ratiu picked up two wins in singles play.
- def. Sierra Donaldson (LU) 7-5, 6-3
- def. Violetta Khisamova (CNU) 4-6, 6-2, 10-6
MEN:
Caleb McCurry picked up two wins in singles play.
- def. Lluis Tomas (TU) 6-4, 6-3
- def. Jack Bowman (CC) 6-2, 6-3
Herman Ronnberg picked up one win in singles play.
- def. Adrian Heidelberger (CC) 6-4, 6-1
