Over the past few weeks, Young Harris College has been honoring its spring sports senior student-athletes who had their 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19. Should they chose to extend their eligibility under NCAA rules, these student-athletes may return to play in the 2021 season.

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Today's Young Harris College spring sport senior student-athlete spotlight is baseball's Tucker Greer.

Greer, who is an outfielder from Paris, Kentucky, has played for the Mountain Lions the past two seasons after transferring from Lincoln Trail College.

"Tucker was a great student-athlete who possesses not only great ability, but great intangibles that have been infectious for our team," said YHC head coach Stephen Waggener. "He was a vital component to our 2019 PBC Championship. We are looking forward to his contributions in 2021."

Greer started 18 games this season. Greer batted .278 (20-of-72) with three doubles, a triple and nine RBI for the Mountain Lions, who were 9-9 during the shortened season. He scored 11 runs while having a .347 slugging percentage and a .358 on-base percentage.

Greer started 57 games for the Mountain Lions last season as they won a program-tying 36 games as they captured the 2019 Peach Belt Conference Tournament, made their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament and finished the season ranked 29th by Collegiate Baseball. He hit .296 (61-of-206) last season with eight doubles, a triple, two home runs and 28 RBI. He also had a .374 slugging percentage and a 436 on-base percentage to go along with 16 stolen bases.

So far in his career with the Mountain Lions and the Statesmen, Greer has batted .325  (205-of-630) in 172 games with 30 doubles, 13 triples and three home runs. He has scored 159 runs and driven in 91 to go along with his 39 stolen bases. In the YHC record books, Greer is third in on-base percentage (.418) and sixth in stolen bases (20).

Greer, who is a business and public policy major, has been named to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll.
