OAKWOOD, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's cross country team competed at the Peach Belt Cross Country Preview hosted by the University of North Georgia Saturday (Oct. 31) morning.
The Mountain Lions finished in sixth place with a team score of 138, while Flagler College won the meet with a perfect score of 15 as they swept the first six places.Â
Josh Whedbee led all YHC runners with a top-20 effort as he came in 16th place on the 8K layout on the UNG Cross Country Course with a time of 27:34.7.
Luke Surowiec finished in 24th place with a time of 28:37.1, while
Thomas Mellendorf placed 29th with an effort of 29:12.0.
Jackson Lazenby finished in 34th with a time of 30:18.6 and was followed by
Kai Vigardt (30:29.0, 35th),
Hank Guinade (30:48.2, 36th) and
Nhan Le (34:09.4, 38th).
Young Harris returns to competition in two weeks when they wrap up their season at the 2020 Peach Belt Conference Championship Nov. 14 in Oakwood, Georgia.Â
