OAKWOOD, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's cross country opened their 2020 campaign Saturday (Oct. 17) morning at the UNG Cross Country Invitational hosted by the University of North Georgia.

The Mountain Lions only had four runner compete so Young Harris didn't compile a team score for the 8K race on the UNG Cross Country Course.

The top YHC runner was sophomore Luke Surowiec who completed the course in a time of 29:08.7, good for 22nd place. Freshman Thomas Mellendorf was 15 seconds behind and finished in 25th with a time of 29:23.9. Freshman Jackson Lazenby posted a 30:46.9 effort and came in 34th place, while sophomore Nhan Le had a 33:03.3 time and finished in 38th.

Young Harris should be back to full strength Oct. 31 when the Mountain Lions return to Oakwood, Georgia, for the Peach Belt XC Preview at 9:30 a.m.
