Emma Andersson and
Hannah Walker have been named a Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar.
It is the third consecutive year that the Mountain Lions have been recognized by the WGCA. It is the third consecutive year that Walker has been honored,
Criteria for the WGCA All-American Scholar Team include having a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 and have participated in 50 percent of the team's competitive rounds.
Andersson, a freshman from Nykoping, Sweden, played in all nine events for the Mountain Lions, finishing second on the team with a 77.86 stroke average. The Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year had two top-five finishes with a fourth at the Bearcat Invitational and a fifth at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational. She led the team with three rounds at par or better and had two of the 21 rounds under par in the PBC this season. Andersson, who was named the PBC Golfer of the Week in April, was also named to the All-Peach Belt second team. Andersson has a 3.97 grade-point average as a business and public policy major,
Walker, a junior from Cumming, Georgia, was named to the All-PBC team for the third consecutive season. Walker led the Mountain Lions and is finished fifth in the Peach Belt with a 76.38 scoring average. In nine tournaments, Walker, who has a .825 winning percentage (517-110) in 2018-19, had four top-10 finishes, including at tie for third place at the Louise Suggs Invitational and a tie for second place at the PBC Championship. Walker was also named to the All-PBC Championship team.
Walker, who has a 4.00 GPA as an environmental science major, earned the PBC Elite 15 Award presented by EAB this spring. The PBC Elite 15 award is modeled on the NCAA's Elite 90 and honors the student-athletes competing in the championship event with the highest cumulative GPA.
