YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College won its final two matches to rally past Francis Marion University 5-4 in a Peach Belt Conference men's tennis match Sunday (March 5) afternoon at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
The Mountain Lions improved to 5-6 overall and to 3-3 in the Peach Belt, while the No. 27 Patriots fell to 4-6 and 0-5.Young Harris returns to action March 18 when they travel to Harrogate, Tennessee, for a 2 p.m. non-conference match against Lincoln Memorial University.
Young Harris took a 2-1 lead after doubles as the Mountain Lions claimed win at the top two flights. However, Francis Marion claimed three of the top four flights in singles to to take retake the lead at 4-3.
Raul Quevedo and
Javier Villar, after dropping the first set in their match, rallied for three-set victory and give the Mountain Lions the match.
