MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College took wins in five of the first six matches en route to a 6-3 Peach Belt Conference men's tennis victory over Young Harris College Friday (Feb. 24) afternoon at the Centennial Center.
Georgia College, which is ranked No. 11 in the latest ITA Division II national rankings, improved to 2-1 overall and to 1-0 in the league, while YHC slipped to 2-4 and 0-1. Young Harris travels to Columbus, Georgia, Saturday (Feb. 25) for a 2 p.m. match against No. 6 Columbus State University.
The Bobcats swept all three doubles matches to take the early 3-0 lead. GC took a win at No. 2 singles, before
Alex Pavel picked up the first win for the Mountain Lions at No. 3 singles. GC's Christian Graff clinched the win with a hard-fought three-set win over
Daniel Tiboldi at No. 1 singles. The other wins for the Mountain Lions were by
Raul Quevedo (No. 4) and
Javier Villar (No. 6).
