SAVANNAH, Ga. | Armstrong State University defeated Young Harris College 8-1 in a Peach Belt Conference men's tennis match in a battle of nationally ranked teams Wednesday (March 9) at Bacon Park.

The No. 3 Pirates improved to 8-1 overall and to 3-0 in the league while the Mountain Lions fell to 6-4 and 1-3. Young Harris remains on the road as they travel to Milledgeville, Georgia, for an 11 a.m. PBC match Saturday (March 12) against No. 10 Georgia College.

The one win for the Mountain Lions was a huge one as
Brecht Vangrinsven defeated Pablo Gor, the No. 2-ramled ranked singles player in NCAA Division II at No. 1 singles. Vangrinsven dropped the first set 6-0, but rallied for a 6-4 decision in set two. Vangrinsven then defeated Gor 10-5 in the super tiebreaker.
