YOUNG HARRIS , Ga. – Georgia College picked up a 6-3 Peach Belt Conference men's tennis victory over Young Harris College Saturday (March 7) afternoon at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
The No. 20 Bobcats improved to 5-2 overall and to 3-1 in the conference while the Mountain Lions fell to 4-4 and 1-4. Young Harris returns to action Tuesday (March 10) with a 3 p.m. contest in Orlando, Florida, against Ave Maria University.
Young Harris took a 2-1 lead after doubles as the Mountain Lions claimed wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Young Harris nearly swept all three doubles but the Bobcats rallied from being down three match points for a 9-8 (6) win at the No. 1 flight.
The singles matches were closely decided as four of the six matches went to a deciding third set. Daniel Tiboldi picked up the lone YHC win in singles with a 6-7 (2), 6-2, 6-4 win at the No. 4 flight.
