YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Four years. A new standard. A legacy that speaks for itself. Avram Allen did not just lead Young Harris College women's soccer, he elevated it. From day one, his teams competed with purpose, played with confidence, and delivered results that put the Mountain Lions firmly on the map.

His final season in 2025 was a statement. The Mountain Lions finished 11-6-3 overall and 8-2-3 in Conference Carolinas play, producing 44 goals and averaging 2.20 per match. The numbers tell the story of an offense that attacked relentlessly, totaling 147 shots on goal off 280 attempts and earning 91 corner kicks.

And once again, Allen developed elite talent.

Sunny Bowlin-Stacy capped off her career with D2CCA Third Team All-American honors while also earning First Team All-Southeast Region recognition. Scarlet Hirschy followed with Second Team All-Southeast Region honors, continuing a trend that defined Allen's tenure: players reaching their highest level under his leadership.

In 2024, Allen led the Mountain Lions to a 9-6-3 overall record and an 8-1-3 mark in conference play, earning the Southwest Division Championship. Young Harris powered its way to the quarterfinals before falling to Francis Marion University, but the run made one thing clear, this program was no longer chasing, it was competing with the best.

That season also produced one of the greatest individual performances in program history. Shania Harris set the Young Harris single-season record with 34 points, scoring 13 goals and becoming one of the most dangerous players in the conference. Contributions from Betsy Bu and Anita Roese added to a balanced, high-powered attack.

In 2023, Allen's squad went 9-6-4 overall and 8-4 in conference play, earning a spot in the conference tournament. While the postseason ended against Barton College, the Mountain Lions proved they could score with anyone. Alexis Scarpinato led the charge with 17 goals, while Harris and Charlotte Brown added depth and consistency across the attack.

He led Young Harris to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament and coached Scarpinato alongside Jhena Ellerbe to First Team All-Conference honors. It marked the first time in program history that two players earned First Team All-Peach Belt recognition in the same season, an early sign of what was coming. But what makes Allen's run stand out is not just the results, it is the consistency.

Year after year, his teams won. Year after year, his players developed. Year after year, the expectations rose, and his teams met them.

Before leading from the sideline, Allen wore the jersey. A former Mountain Lion captain, he helped guide the 2006 team to the GJCAA Region 17 finals, earning all-region and all-tournament honors. His journey continued at the University of North Georgia, where he competed and later coached, helping build championship-caliber teams.

He returned to Young Harris not just to coach, but to build something that would last. From his time developing players with Athletico Lanier in the National Premier Soccer League to shaping young talent at Lanier Soccer Association, every step of his career showed in the product on the field in the Valley.

Avram Allen leaves Young Harris better than he found it, and that is the mark of a coach who got the absolute most out of his time in the Valley.
