YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's tennis team earned a thrilling 4-3 victory over Erskine College on Saturday afternoon at the Bob and Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.

The Mountain Lions improved to 6-3 on the season after rallying from an early deficit, with Lexie Gillespie clinching the match in a dramatic three-set battle at No. 6 singles.

Erskine claimed the doubles point by winning matches at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, despite a strong 6-2 victory from Futaba Saito and Maud Scholten at No. 1 doubles.

Young Harris responded in singles play. Saito evened the match with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles before Viviana Gomez battled back for a three-set victory at No. 4 singles (6-7, 6-2, 6-1). Callie Stanfield added another point for the Mountain Lions with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles.

With the match tied and the final point on the line, Gillespie delivered the deciding victory at No. 6 singles, rallying past Simona Stepanovic 2-6, 7-6, 6-4 to secure the 4-3 team win.
