YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 7 North Georgia on Wednesday afternoon at the Bob and Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
North Georgia claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 (6-4), No. 2 (6-1), and No. 3 (6-4) to take early control of the match.
In singles play, the Nighthawks secured victories at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 5 to clinch the match. Young Harris showed fight across the remaining courts, with multiple matches left unfinished at the time of decision.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
• North Georgia swept all three doubles courts to take the early 1-0 lead
• Futaba Saito trailed 6-2, 5-1 at No. 1 singles when play was halted
• Viviana Gomez was locked in a tight battle at No. 4 singles (7-6, 10-9 unfinished)
• Lexie Gillespie won the opening set 6-4 at No. 6 singles and was trailing 3-2 in the second when the match was clinched
