DAHLONEGA, Ga. | The Young Harris College Mountain Lions used a late offensive push to claim the game on Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 3), defeating the University of North Georgia Nighthawks 16–5 at Bob Stien Stadium to take the first game in The Battle of Blood Mountain. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Young Harris saw a potential game taking rally from UNG in the second inning as the Nighthawks scored 5 runs. However, YHC would hold off an early game surge from UNG and would proceed to score 12 unanswered runs in the next 7 innings. 

• The Mountain Lions finished the afternoon with 17 hits and nine walks, producing double-digit runs for the third game in a row.  

• The Mountain Lions struck immediately in the opening inning, highlighted by a two-run homer from Jackson Morgan.   

• Young Harris added hits from 9 different players for the Mountain Lions. 

• The Nighthawks rallied with five runs in the second inning to take the lead, but Young Harris answered with 12 unanswered runs in the next seven innings to close out the win. 

• Young Harris scored 16 runs in the win, including four in the sixth and three in the ninth. 

• Jack Enrico finished 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs scored, and a homerun.. 

• Jeo Hernandez went 3-for-4 with one run scored and an RBI. 

• Jackson Morgan added a three-run homer in the ninth inning; Brock Parker earned the win, allowing no runs over four innings while striking out two.  

• UNG was led by a home run performance from C. Hodge.
