YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | With grit in their sticks and the Enchanted Valley roaring behind them, the Mountain Lions battled until the final whistle Sunday afternoon in a thriller against Palm Beach Atlantic. Locked at 9-9 after regulation, Young Harris forced overtime in dramatic fashion before the Sailfish slipped in the game-winner with just two seconds remaining, edging YH 10-9.
After an even first quarter (1-1), both squads traded punches in a high-scoring second period, heading into halftime deadlocked at 6-6. The Mountain Lions refused to blink in the third, answering every Palm Beach Atlantic surge and taking a 9-8 advantage late in the frame. The Sailfish knotted the contest early in the fourth, setting the stage for a tension-filled finish that ultimately required overtime.
Young Harris drops to 1-1 overall, while Palm Beach Atlantic improves to 1-0.
