Mountain Lions Keep Bulldogs on a Short Leash in Road Sweep

WILSON, N.C. | Young Harris erased an early deficit and never looked back, using sustained offensive pressure to secure a series win at Barton on Friday with a 10-7 victory in game one and a 17-7 win in game two at Nixon Field. 

GAME ONE: YH 10, Barton 7 

The Mountain Lions struck early behind Jackson Morgan's power and maintained control by answering every Barton push. Young Harris produced runs across five innings, leaning on timely hits and late execution to protect the lead. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

Jackson Morgan launched two home runs and finished with three hits and three runs batted in, setting the tone at the top of the lineup. 
Kade Smallwood drove in four runs, including the decisive two-run single in the seventh inning that created separation. 
Barrett Eldridge earned the win with two scoreless innings in relief, stabilizing the middle frames. 
Trey Griffin recorded the save with three innings of work, striking out six and allowing no earned runs. 

GAME TWO: YH 17, Barton 7 

Young Harris broke the game open with explosive third and fourth innings, stacking extra-base hits and forcing Barton into extended defensive innings as the offense produced runs in seven different frames. 

Player of the game is awarded to Keypher Contreras, who delivered a dominant performance at the plate, going 4-for-4 with three home runs, four runs batted in, and four runs scored to power the Mountain Lions' offensive surge. 

YH advances 11-3 overall while remaining undefeated (6-0) in conference play; Barton is now 2-8 overall and 1-5 in the conference. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Keypher Contreras went a perfect 4-for-4 with three home runs, driving in four and scoring four times in a centerpiece offensive performance. 
Jack Enrico recorded three hits, including a home run, finishing with two runs batted in and three runs scored. 
Carlos Martans added three hits and an RBI, helping extend multiple scoring innings. 
Kyle Chatham collected two hits and drove in a run while contributing to the multi-run fourth inning. 
Sean Keener earned the win in relief, helping Young Harris maintain momentum after the early innings. 
• The Mountain Lions totaled 19 hits and produced runs in seven innings during the game two victory.
