YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College Mountain Lions secured their first victory of the 2026 season in dominant fashion Sunday afternoon (Feb. 15), defeating Emory & Henry 16–5 at home. Young Harris used a balanced offensive effort and strong possession play to pull away after a competitive opening quarter.
The game was tied 2–2 at the end of the first, but the Mountain Lions outscored the Wasps 9–2 over the second and third quarters to take full control. Young Harris closed the contest with five fourth-quarter goals to seal the 11-goal win and improve to 1–3 on the season.
Gunnar Fagerstrom led the charge with four goals, while Colburn Connelly added two goals and two assists. John McElhenny also scored twice, and 11 different Mountain Lions found the back of the net in a complete team performance.
