TIGERVILLE, S.C. | The Young Harris College men's lacrosse team closed out the regular season on Friday evening with a 19-8 loss to North Greenville, finishing the year 3-12 overall and 2-6Â in Conference Carolinas play.
North Greenville (11-6, 7-2 CC) jumped out early and never let up, outscoring the Mountain Lions 4-2 in the opening quarter before extending the margin to 9-5 at halftime. Young Harris showed fight throughout the first half, getting goals from Gunnar Fagerstrom and Colburn Connelly in the first quarter before Kyren Fields struck twice in the second to keep the deficit manageable.
After Anderson Kesinger opened the third quarter with a goal to cut it to 9-6, the Trailblazers responded with a decisive run, scoring the final six goals of the period to take a 15-6 lead into the fourth.
Indiana Crawford and Christopher Redding each found the net in the final quarter, but North Greenville added four more goals to secure the 19-8 result.
