Mountain Lions Split 2026 Home Opener with Lee University

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College Mountain Lions opened the 2026 home schedule with a split against Lee University on Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 10). Young Harris earned a 2–1 walk-off victory in game one before dropping a 7–4 decision in the nightcap. 

Game One: (Young Harris 2, Lee 1) 

Young Harris secured a walk-off win in the opener behind timely hitting and strong pitching. 

Lee took a 1–0 lead in the third inning on an RBI single by Lewis, but the Mountain Lions answered in the bottom half when Jordan Morris grounded out to score Hannah Davis and even the game. 

The score remained tied until the seventh. With runners on, Shelby Duncan doubled to left center to score Mallory Clark and lift Young Harris to the 2–1 victory. 

Julia Moore earned the win in relief, tossing two scoreless innings and striking out two. Lilly Jones started and allowed one run over five innings. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

Shelby Duncan delivered the walk-off RBI double in the seventh. 

Hannah Davis and Mallory Clark each recorded two hits. 

• Young Harris totaled eight hits and committed no errors. 

Julia Moore (3-1) earned the win with two scoreless innings. 

Lilly Jones allowed one run over five innings in the start. 

Game Two: (Lee 7, Young Harris 4) 

Lee jumped ahead early in game two and held off a Mountain Lion push to earn the split. 

The Flames scored two runs in the first and four more in the second, highlighted by two home runs from Winsett, to build a 6–0 lead. 

Young Harris responded in the second when Haley Cummings doubled in three runs. Gracie Hughes added a solo home run in the third to trim the deficit to 6–4, but Lee added an insurance run in the fourth and closed out the victory. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

Haley Cummings drove in three runs with a double in the second inning. 

Gracie Hughes homered in the third. 

Bailee Brown went 3-for-4 to lead the offense. 

• Young Harris finished with 11 hits. 

Isabella Pecorilli allowed one run over 5.1 innings in relief. 

UP NEXT:

The Mountain Lions will return to action this weekend as they travel to Greenwood, SC for another tournament.
