YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College Softball freshman pitcher Julia Moore has been named to the D2CCA First Team All-Southeast Region after a dominant debut season in the circle for the Mountain Lions. Moore anchored Young Harris throughout the 2026 campaign, helping guide the program to a 32-17 overall record and a 10-win improvement from the 2025 season under head coach Jessie Homesley.
Moore quickly emerged as one of the top pitchers in the Southeast Region during her freshman season, finishing with a 15-5 record, eight saves, and a stellar 1.34 ERA across 135.2 innings pitched. She struck out 123 batters while allowing just 26 earned runs all season long. Moore also held opponents to only two home runs throughout the year while making 34 appearances in the circle.
Among her top performances of the season was an eight-inning complete-game victory at Erskine on April 18, where she struck out a season-high nine batters in a 6-3 win. She also tossed a one-hit shutout against Emmanuel, recorded multiple saves during conference play and postseason action, and delivered scoreless outings against programs including North Greenville, Southern Wesleyan, UNC Pembroke, King, and Shorter.
Moore's consistency and poise throughout the season played a major role in the Mountain Lions' success, as Young Harris continued its rise within Conference Carolinas and the Southeast Region behind one of the nation's top freshman pitchers.
