YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College Volleyball is proud to welcome back one of its own, as Kallee McKinney joins the program as an Assistant Coach, Head Coach Ginny Howard announced today.

"I'm thrilled to welcome Kallee McKinney back to the Young Harris Volleyball program—this time as a coach!" said Howard. "Her energy, enthusiasm, and deep passion for the game make her an incredible addition to our staff. I'm confident she'll bring tremendous value to our team, both on and off the court. Having Kallee back also represents something even bigger, a bridge to our alumni, reminding them that they're always a vital part of our program and encouraging them to stay connected and involved on campus."

McKinney, a native of New Sarepta, Alberta, Canada, is a 2024 graduate of Young Harris College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Sports and Recreation, graduating cum laude. She also pursued her Teacher Education degree at Trent University.

A member of the inaugural Young Harris Volleyball team in 2020, McKinney played four seasons as a defensive specialist/libero, appearing in 89 matches and 230 sets. She totaled 195 digs, 36 service aces, and was part of the most successful team in program history in 2023. She continued her playing career at Trent University for the 2024–25 season.

McKinney's assistant coaching responsibilities will be in addition to her campus role as an Admissions Counselor at Young Harris College.

"I am incredibly grateful to be welcomed back to the Young Harris College Volleyball program, this time as an assistant coach," said McKinney. "I am looking forward to working alongside Coach Howard to continue building the foundation towards excellence and continued success. I am very passionate about Young Harris and its volleyball program and am so excited to be on the other side of the bench and work to help athletes reach their fullest potential on and off the court. I am so thankful to Coach Howard and Aaron Bessey for trusting my abilities in this incredible opportunity. I can't wait to get started this fall! Go Mountain Lions!"

McKinney's return marks a meaningful moment for the program, as she becomes the first alumna of the Mountain Lions Volleyball team to join the coaching staff.
