GREENVILLE, SC | The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced their all-region awards earlier today, and Young Harris Softball's
Grace Young was recognized. Young was awarded D2CCA Southeast All-Region Second Team honors, for the UTL/P position.
While being a weapon in the circle and at the plate, Snellville, Ga. native
Grace Young dominates on both sides of the ball season after season. The senior had an overall 13-3 record this season as the Mountain Lions go-to pitcher. The formula was simple – if
Grace Young was in the circle, the YH win percentage sat at 72 percent. She posted a career-low opponent batting average this season (.267). She finished with a 4.39 ERA in 87.2 innings pitched.
Young posted a .319/.408/.481 slash line on the season, with 18 runs scored, 43 hits and 32 RBI. In terms of extra base-hits, she recorded 13 doubles and three home runs. Young often found herself hitting in the cleanup spot, a consistent right-handed hitter who could do damage.
