YOUNG HARRIS, GA. The Mountain Lions split today's conference doubleheader (L, 1-4) and (W, 5-4) this afternoon with the Lions of Emmanuel University (Mar 8
th). Young Harris fell short in Game 1 but bounced back in Game 2 thanks to a walk-off single from
Grace Young.
The Mountain Lions move to 9-11 overall and begin 1-1 in Conference Carolinas. Emmanuel moves to 6-13 overall and start 1-1 in Conference Carolinas.

Game 1:
• The Mountain Lions fall short in Game 1 by the score of 4-1.
• Young Harris started the scoring in the 4
th inning with
Shelby Duncan crossing home plate by way of a
Grace Young RBI fielder's choice.
• Emmanuel responded with a grand slam off the bat of Jaryn Gibson to take a 4-1 lead in the 5
th inning.

Shelby Duncan displayed a hot bat in Game 1, going 2-3 at the plate.

Isabella Pecorilli threw a complete game for the Mountain Lions, only allowing five hits over seven innings on the mound.
Game 2:
• Young Harris won the game two thriller by the final score of 5-4.

Gracie Hughes (1-3) put the Mountain Lions on the board in the first inning, scoring
Bailee Brown on an RBI single to give YHC an early 1-0 lead.

Shelby Duncan (2-4) added on in the 3
rd inning, bringing home
Jordan Morris on an RBI single before crossing home herself off an RBI FC by
Gracie Hughes to stretch the lead to 3-0.

Abby Castleberry (1-3) would make the score a 4-0 YHC lead, scoring on an error in the 4
thinning.
• Aggie Bennett recorded all 4 RBIs for Emmanuel on an RBI double in the 5
th inning before hitting a three-run home run to tie the game in the top of the 7
th.
• With the game tied at four in the 7
th inning,
Grace Young (2-4) emerged as the hero, bringing home
Shelby Duncan on an RBI single to give the Mountain Lions a 5-4 victory.

Amber Corley (2-1) recorded the win for the Mountain Lions after coming on in relief for
Grace Young.
