YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. The Mountain Lion offense was generally quiet in game one but broke out early in game two with five runs in the second inning to help split the double-header against the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan (March 18
th). Grace Young was stellar in the circle in game two, pitching a complete game allowing just one earned run. Â

The Mountain Lions move to 10-12 overall and are 2-2 in Conference Carolinas. The Warriors move to 14-4 overall and are 1-1 in Conference Carolinas. Â

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:Â
Game 1:Â
·     The Warriors struck early when Amberley Way sent one over the left field wall with 2 outs and nobody on in the first. Â
·     Ayden Leaphart brought a spark off the bench pinch running in the second inning, she stole second and third, then came into score on a two out RBI single off the bat of Talissa Cannady.Â
·     The Mountain Lions got on the board in the second inning courtesy of an
Avery Fielden RBI double to right-center. Â
·     Each team scored two runs in the fifth inning, SWU's runs came way of a two-run home run from Talissa Cannady, while YH's runs were scored on back-to-back RBI singles from Jess                   Jaruszewski and
Shayla Pennington.Â
·     The Knights scored one more run in the sixth on an RBI single, the Mountain Lions were unable to scratch across any runs in the sixth or seventh and ultimately fell 5-3 in game one.Â
·     Amber Corley came out of the bullpen to pitch two and a third innings of one run ball while striking out one and giving up one hit. Â
·     Jess Jaruszewski was the bright spot of the Mountain Lion offense finishing 2-4 on the day with an RBI. Â
Game 2:Â
·     Grace Young dominated in the circle in game two, pitching a complete game allowing just one earned run, walking three, and striking out three.Â
·     The Young Harris offense broke out in the bottom of the second inning, putting up a crooked number with five runs. These runs came courtesy of a
Jordan Morris bases loaded walk, a
Bailee Brown single, a
Shelby Duncan walk, a
Grace Young walk, and a
Gracie Hughes sacrifice fly. Â
·     Southern Wesleyan scratched across two runs in the third inning benefiting from a couple of errors from the Young Harris defense.Â
·     In the bottom of the fourth, it was
Gracie Hughes who stepped up with an RBI double, adding onto her team leading RBI total which now sits at 25 through just 22 games. Â
·     The Mountain Lions final run came in the bottom of the fifth when
Grace Young helped her own cause with a bases loaded walk to bring the score to 7-3 which would end up being the final score.Â

UP NEXT: The Mountain Lions hit the road next Tuesday, March 18
th where they will take on Emmanuel in a double-header beginning at 1PM. This will be the beginning of a long 12 game road stretch for YH. Â
