Mountain Lions Battle in 3-4 Thriller at Georgia College

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's tennis team fought down to the wire but came up just short in a 4-3 battle against Georgia College on the road.

The Mountain Lions move to 3-5 on the season following the hard-fought match.

Match Recap:

Young Harris started strong in doubles play, claiming the opening point. The duo of Noah Pawirodirjo & Caleb McCurry secured a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles to give YHC the edge. However, Georgia College responded by taking the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches, clinching the doubles point.

Carrying the intensity into singles play, the Mountain Lions claimed three wins but ultimately fell just short of the comeback.

  • Noah Pawirodirjo (#1) pushed his match to three sets but fell 6-1, 3-6, 4-6.

  • Caleb McCurry (#2) battled through a marathon match, winning a second-set tiebreaker but dropping the final set in a 4-6, 7-6 (11-9), 6-7 (7-4) defeat.

  • Samuel Guzon (#3) delivered a clutch comeback, rallying for a 0-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory.

  • Mason Harmon (#4) controlled his match from start to finish, securing a 6-2, 6-4 straight-set win.

  • Gregor Gottein (#5) faced a tough challenge, falling 4-6, 0-6.

  • Greyson Williams (#6) emerged victorious in a thrilling three-set tiebreaker, edging out his opponent 7-6, 4-6, 11-9.
