BELMONT, NC | The Mountain Lions traveled to Belmont Abbey College for a Conference Carolinas matchup this afternoon (Mar 25th). Young Harris fell short in this match up, suffering a 13-1 defeat.
The Mountain Lions move to 4-6 overall and are 2-2 in Conference Carolinas. Belmont Abbey moves to 6-2 overall and are 2-0 in Conference Carolinas.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
· Young Harris started the scoring in the first period, with
John McElhenny taking the pass from
Ben Soenen to find the back of the net. YHC led 1-0.
· The Crusaders responded, scoring two goals in the 1
st period to take a 2-1 lead.
· Belmont Abbey was able to extend the gap in score in the 2
nd period, taking a 9-1 lead into halftime.
· With two goals apiece in the 3
rd and 4th periods, Belmont Abbey was able to secure a 13-1 lead.
· Young Harris and Belmont Abbey tied the face-off battle at nine each, with
Evan Anderson winning eight face off attempts.
· Dylan Wilbur recorded 17 saves in goal for the Mountain Lions.
