UMO Uses a Big Inning in Each Game to Complete Double-Header Sweep of YH

A four-run third inning in game one and a five-run fifth inning in game two propelled the Trojans to complete the sweep of the Mountain Lions (Mar 23rd).

MOUNT OLIVE, NC | A four-run third inning in game one and a five-run fifth inning in game two propelled the Trojans to complete the sweep of the Mountain Lions (Mar 23rd). A big three-run homerun in the top of the sixth in game one from Gracie Hughes was the highlight of the day for YH. 
 
The Mountain Lions move to 12-16 overall and are 4-6 in Conference Carolinas. The Trojans move to 15-13 overall and are 5-3 in Conference Carolinas.  
  
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 
Game 1: 
·      The Trojans struck early, scoring one in the first on a Lacy Best RBI single.  
·      Young Harris struggled offensively early in this one as they watched Mount Olive tack on four more runs in the bottom of the third inning.  
·      YH struck in the fourth, fifth, and sixth inning accounting for five runs. Three of those runs came off a huge homer off the bat of Gracie Hughes in the sixth inning.  
·      Hughes's homer knotted the game up at five for the time being, but Mount Olive struck back with two runs in the bottom half of the sixth to retake the lead.  
·      The Mountain Lions brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh but were unable to capitalize, YH ultimately fell 7-5 in game one. 
·      Jordan Morris finished 2-2 at the plate with an RBI and a walk. 
Game 2: 
·      Mallory Clark got the scoring going in game two with an RBI single up the middle in the top of the second. 
·      Mount Olive went onto score eight unanswered runs from the bottom of the second to the bottom of the fifth.  
·      Young Harris tacked on a run in the top of the seventh courtesy of a Gracie Hughes sacrifice fly that would score Bailee Brown.  
·      The Mountain Lions had three players with multiple hits in game two: Shelby Duncan, Bailee Brown, and Avery Fielden all collected two knocks.  
·      Grace Young came in to pitch the bottom of the sixth and worked a scoreless frame. 
·      Young Harris ended up falling 8-2.  
 
UP NEXT: The Mountain Lions hit the road this Tuesday, March 24th where they will take on Lee University in a double header. Game one is scheduled for 2:00.
