WILSON, NC | While on the road, the Mountain Lions drop to Barton College 3-2 in game one and 10-1 in game two (Mar 22^nd). Big innings for the Bulldogs created gaps in the score that Young Harris struggled to fill at the plate. In game one, Shelby Duncan hit her fourth home run of the year for two RBIs. 
 
The Mountain Lions move to 12-14 overall and are 4-4 in Conference Carolinas play. The Bulldogs move to 17-14 overall and are 5-6 in Conference Carolinas.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
 
Game 1:

• The Mountain Lions fell just short with a final score of 3-2.
• In a game with a lack of overall offense, the Bulldogs struck first in the fourth inning with a solo home run from Gracelyn Massey.
• The fifth inning can be summarized by two Barton runs; one off a YH throwing error and the other on a sacrifice fly. Barton led 3-0. 
• YH found some life in the sixth after a Shelby Duncan (1-3) two-run home run to left field. 
• Barton's Kierstin Cooper was awarded the win after seven innings pitched and five punch outs.

Game 2:

• Young Harris lost with a final score of 10-1.
• A very large second inning for the Bulldogs made this a challenge for YH relatively fast. MacKenzie Taylor, Makenzie Cyzick, Ali Bunch, Gracelyn Massey, and Mary Lindsey Harris RBIs gave BC an early 8-0 lead. 
• In the fourth, Mary Lindsey Harris reached on a fielding error and Ali Bunch scored. 
• The Mountain Lion offensive action took place in the fifth. Bailee Brown (1-3) reached on a fielder's choice while bringing home Maddy Brady. 
• The Bulldog's Ali Bunch picked up the win after five innings pitched and three strikeouts. 

UP NEXT: The Mountain Lions have a quick turnaround as they face the Trojans of Mount Olive on the road tomorrow (Mar 23^rd) in a 1PM/3:30PM double-header.
