The Mountain Lions Round Out Their Charger Chillout Tournament

Albertville, Ala. | The Mountain Lions wrapped up their outing in the Charger Chillout tournament against the University of Montevallo Falcons, the Delta State University Statesmen on February 8th; including the Mississippi College Choctaws and the Christian Brothers University Buccaneers on February 9th at Sand Mountain Park. 

In game one Young Harris fell short against the Falcons 9-7. In the second game against the Statesmen, the Mountain Lions were taken down 5-1. The next day, Young Harris was bested by Mississippi College 0-4, and the Buccaneers were defeated by the Mountain Lions 3-2. 

Young Harris is now 2-5 overall, while the University of Montevallo improves to 4-3, Delta State University moves to 3-1, Mississippi College bumps up to 6-4 and Christian Brothers University falters to 6-1 overall. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

Feb 8th (GAME 1) 

· Young Harris college was outmatched 9-7 by the Montevallo Falcons. 

· Bailey Brown placed the Mountain Lions on the map stealing home base in the first. 

· Gracie Hughes tripled to right field for an RBI, granting Shelby Duncan a score knocking Young Harris up 2-1 in the third. 

· Addie Heal smacked a double to the left allowing Avery Rein to reach home for a score of 3-1 in the third. 

· Kennedy Hussy and Becca Benton both scored for the Falcons to tie in the fourth. 

(GAME TWO) 

· The Statesmen came out victorious in the second game over the Mountain Lions, 5-1. 

· Maddy Brady scored on a throwing error by the short stop. 

· Bailey Way and Avery Ragsdale closed out the game in the sixth with an RBI. 

Feb 9th (GAME THREE) 

· The Mountain Lions were unable to prevail against the Mississippi Choctaws with a final score of 0-4. 

· Megan Matheis, Bella Myers, and Blakely Gill all logged an RBI to contribute to their victory. 

(GAME 4) 

· Young Harris emerged victorious over CBU 3-2. 

· Mandie Barrow of the Bucs recorded two RBI's placing her team up by two points in the first and third. 

· Gracie Hughes placed Young Harris on the scoreboard with an earned RBI in the third. 

· Bailey Brown collected an RBI down the left field. 

· Shelby Duncan hammered a triple down the left center which tallied yet another RBI for the Mountain Lions for the winning run in the sixth. 

UP NEXT 

Your Mountain Lions return to action on Valentines Day (Feb 14th) to go up against the USC Aiken Pacers at 12:30 in Greenwood, South Carolina at Doug Spears Field.
