WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. | The Young Harris College men's track & field team delivered a strong performance at the Camel City Distance Classic (College) on Saturday (Feb. 8) at the JDL Fast Track, with several Mountain Lions improving their conference rankings ahead of the postseason.Â
Freshman Ryder Holland highlighted the day by hitting the Conference Carolinas automatic qualifying mark in the 800-meter run, crossing the line in 2:00.12 to place 20th overall. In the 3,000-meter run, freshman Aidan Vrazel shattered his personal best, clocking 9:06.72 for 41st place. Junior Noah Mason impressed in the mile, running 4:31.93 to finish 23rd, putting himself in strong contention for a conference championship bid.Â
QUOTE FROM HEAD COACH MATT LOGAN:Â
"We saw a lot of good things today. Our men moved up the conference descending order list and are in a good place going into conference. I think Ryder, Aidan, and Noah Mason really stood out as our performers of the meet. We were missing a couple of key guys today, and I'm proud of our resiliency. Our entire group has been fighting a wave of illness that's really impacted training. We have two weeks to get healthy and be ready for conference."Â
